Fire Extinguishers We Supply
Water Based Fire Extinguishers
These fire extinguishers fight fire by spraying water. Most effective against solid organic materials such as; wood, plastics, paper, coal, etc. Not for use against electrical or fat/oil based fires.
Foam Based Extinguishers
Firstly, a foam based extinguisher shoots a foam that douses the fire. This results in a layer between the fuel surface and flames. Secondly, foam extinguishers are also suitable for both solid and liquid based fires. Not suitable for use against electrical or fat pan/oil based fires.
Powder Based Extinguishers
A powder based extinguisher blasts the fire with a special powder. Furthermore, this powder causes the flames to cool to a point where the chemical reaction can no longer occur. Suitable or use against organic solids, grease/oil, petrol and gas fires. Whilst safe on live electrical equipment, don’t use for electricals. Due to the fact that it can’t easily reach all spaces in equipment.
CO2 Fire Extinguishers
CO2 Fire extinguishers shoot carbon dioxide. CO2 removes the oxygen from the chemical reaction, effectively smothering the fire. This makes the CO2 extinguisher extremely effective. On the other hand, the CO2 can dissipate fairly quickly, allowing the fire to potentially reignite. Lastly, this type of extinguisher is ideal for electrical fires and live electrical equipment.
Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers
These fire extinguishers are perfect for class F fires involving chip fat/oil based fires. Furthermore, this type of extinguishers sprays out a fine mist, which sits as a layer of foam on top. Lastly, you’ll likely find this type of equipment in locations where oil is cooked to a high temperature.
Lithium L2 and M28 Powder Extinguishers
These extinguishers fall under the category of powder based.
Stainless Steel Extinguishers
Lastly, stainless steel extinguishers are more or less a highly resistant case for your extinguisher. Capable of holding a variety of liquids, a stainless steel extinguisher is for the heavy duty. Perfect for locations where extinguishers may be easily damaged.
